INTRODUCTION TO THE FACULTY OF LAW
The Faculty of Law at Qom University is considered one of the country’s most prestigious centers for legal education, having played a significant role in training legal professionals, lawyers, and professors to date. Legal education is offered at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels in various specializations within this faculty.
TIMELINE OF THE ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENTS OF THE FACULTY OF LAW:
1980: Admission of male students at the undergraduate level in Judicial Law as the first field of study at the university, coinciding with the establishment of Qom University.
1981: Change of the department name from Judicial Law to Judicial Sciences.
1995: First admission of master's degree students in Private Law and Criminal Law and Criminology with the approval of the Ministry of Cultural affairs and Higher Education.
1999: Renaming the department from Judicial Sciences to Bachelor of Law.
2003: Admission of female students at the master's level in Private Law and Criminal Law and Criminology.
2006: Establishment of the Faculty of Law with three departments: Private Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, and General Law, with permission from the Council for the Development of Education.
2007: Official commencement of the Faculty of Law with the appointment of Dr. Adel Sarikhani as the dean of the faculty; admission of master's degree students.
2008: Admission of doctoral students in Private Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, and Intellectual Property Law.
2010: Admission of students in International Law at the master's level.
2013: Admission of students in Public Law at the master's level.
2015: Obtaining permission for doctoral programs in Public Law and International Law; appointment of Dr. Mohammad Salehi Mazandarani as dean of the faculty.
2020: Commencement of foreign student admissions (Iraqi) with lectures in both Arabic and Persian.
