A Guide for International Students in Qom University
(Enrollment, Admissions, Consular Affairs)
We highly welcome international students in Qom province and Qom University. To provide you with the necessary information about consular affairs, we draw your attention to important necessary information according to current regulations of Students' Affairs Organization of the Ministry of Science , Research and Technology, Immigration Police Department of Iran and Consular Affairs Department of the university.
At the beginning of entering the university, every international student will be granted a student visa after the initial admissions (as a student who has scholarship or pays University for his/her studies) and then the student can get residence.
During the study period, the student's residence can be extended and if needed, he/she can leave Iran, return to Iran, or leave Iran without returning.
Enrollment & Admissions process:
Receiving the Tracking number:
All international students need a tracking code for their consular affairs and student visa. They should visit the website (www.old.saorg.ir:8081) to get the tracking code.
To receive the tracking code through the website, students must upload a scan of their own photo and the first page of their passport (or residence card) and the last academic degree and then fill in their personal information. After receiving tracking code ( Saorg code), to confirm the tracking code , the students must refer to consular affairs department of the university. Afghan students must present a valid and new passport (due to the current conditions of Afghanistan, they must act according to the rules of the Student Affairs Organization at each stage). All non-Afghan students who have temporary residence must void their residence card and get a passport.
Necessary Documents for Enrolment in all Courses:
To receive the student ID number, the student must obtain permission from the International Students Affairs Organization at the Ministry of the Science, Research and Technology of Iran.
A branch of publications office of Qom University is ready to provide you with copying and scanning your documents at the consular affairs department.
Necessary Documents to Issue Students Visa:
**Attention: the documents must be on flash memory or CD
Necessary Documents For Issuing Study Residence:
The certificate letter for being student or being graduated from the university in which you are or you were studying.
**The students who were born in Iran also must have the following documents:

Attention: The student should refer to consular affairs in the province in which they study at least 25 days before the expiration of their residence.
It is worth mentioning that according the rules of the University of Qom the ladies who decide to study in this university must regard full IslamicHijab (Chaador) while studying at the university.
Necessary Documents For final Exit from Iran(no more return)
Necessary Documents for Permission to Exit from and Return to Iran
Attention: The student must highly pay attention to the expiration date of their residence card, otherwise if their residence card is expired, they will get fined by Immigration Police Department.Applying for exit and return in normal situation takes about 5 to 7 working days and other types of applications take between 18 to 25 days.
If your residence has been expired, the applicant student first should apply for extension of his/her residence and then apply for exit and return. In this case naturally the duration for applying exit and return permission will be longer than usual.
