He added, “There are different types of columns in this device, the two main types of which are general columns and other columns with special applications are known as "Chiral".
Prof. Alizadeh stated.” The foreign sample of ordinary columns costs nearly 5000 US $ and the columns for separating special compounds cost over one 30000 US $.
He added,” Both types are supposed to be made in Iran and can be used at a much lower price than the foreign sample. The production process of this product took a year and now the public columns have been prepared and used. This product has the same quality as the foreign sample.
Prof. Alizadeh said,” the production cost of general columns is only about 35% of foreign samples, on the other hand, in "Chiral" columns, according to the activities carried out, it has been able to separate a number of Chiral compounds, and the additional stages of its production are underway. With the plans made, these columns can be used at a price close to 30% of the price of the foreign model.
Regarding the beneficial effects of this project, he said: if this product is released, in addition to being profitable for the university, the import of this product from abroad can be stopped, and also due to the production of the product in the laboratory of Qom University, a large number of students in this The project will be active and gain experience. One of the future plans is that product machining will be done in university workshops and this knowledge-based product will compete with foreign samples in the market.
