The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Qom and the University of Halabja
A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between The University of Qom and The University of Halabja in Iraq was signed in the presence of officials from both sides at Qom University.
According to the news unit of Qom University’s Public Relations, discussions regarding inter-university collaborations between the University of Qom and the University of Halabja were held at this university.
At the beginning of this meeting,Hojjat-al-islam Dr. Ahmad Hossein Sharifi, the President of Qom University, welcomed the delegation from the University of Halabja and emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi universities, particularly with The University of Halabja.
He pointed out that Qom University is considered one of the most international universities in Iran in terms of scientific and international interactions and announced Qom University's readiness to enhance scientific and research interactions with Halabja University.
Dr. Dana Abdullah Taher, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies and Deputy President of The University of Halabja, also expressed gratitude for Qom University’s hospitality during this meeting and emphasized the need to increase cooperation between the two parties.
It is worth mentioning that in this meeting, topics such as the ways to expand joint scientific and research collaborations between the faculty members of both sides, the recruitment and Post-graduate studies of some colleagues and faculty members from the University of Halabja at Qom University, and the publication of scientific works in reputable international journals were discussed. It was agreed that the draft memorandum would be executed after approval from the relevant authorities.
Additionally, the delegation from The University of Halabja visited laboratory centers, the central library, and several faculties of Qom University and observed some classes currently being held for Iraqi students.
